Potential users should also be aware that Dream Capture only records. I don't doubt Dream Capture is excellent with built in iSight cameras but for a Mac Pro the Quickcam Vision Pro is the best available and 5 fps is not really adequate. It is about 5 fps, the same as PhotoBooth. However there needs to be some additional USB/UVC support work to increase the capture frame rate for a camera of this type. It is a USB UVC compliant cam with the auto focus and auto light controls built into the camera on chips. I've been trying out video capture apps for use with the new Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro for Mac. I have written to the developer and I am waiting for an answer. Possibly because of the good results I would have asked support if a G4 would cause any problems. If it had been on the website I would not have bought the program however good the program would function. As far as I could see on the website of the developer there is nowhere any talk about the necessity to have a Mac with a G5 processor! This is not good! To my surprise I read here, that you should have a G5 processor! I am using an iMac with a G4.

Recordings of severals seconds only and the saving screen dropping down willy nilly. However after entering the code you receive having bought the program the trouble started.
#VIDEO CAPTURE APPS FOR MAC MOVIE#
I wanted to use it for prerecorded home movie material that would only reside on our computers. I used my Sony DVCAM camera and I made recordings of about a couple of minutes and the colors really looked good. I have bought Dream Capture from the website of the developer after doing a trial.
